you're a virgin who can't drive

i can't believe it's been nearly three years since i've posted to this blog! i've been missing blogging so much lately and since my friends and i were planning a night out for halloween, i figured it'd be the perfect opportunity to take photos and start blogging again! my roommate cait and i went as cher and dionne from clueless. it was one of the most fun costumes to hunt for and everything i bought, i ended up loving. the 90s are alive and well in my heart and closet.

my best friend michael came into the city to hang out and be ARTPOP.

then we went to a few bars and met crazy eyes! (and santa?)

cat lady!

RED!

i really love this dress. i originally only purchased it for halloween, but now i'm sold. it's very true to size and something i think could work in day to day. i rushed to target last minute to find a few basic pieces to add to the costume and my roommate made me this wonderful hat. i think we did okay. so much fun! did anyone dress up for halloween yet?

dress/rings: asos curve (dress here, rings here), cardigan/blazer/shoes: target (cardigan here, blazer here, shoes here), knee highs: forever 21 (here), hat: DIY

ps - i've gone from justwearyou to kayla nykol (my first and middle name) in an effort to be less restricted to blogging about fashion.

that bridge is on fire.

faith21 white lace dress, old navy black skinnies, thrifted black blazer, 80%20 hidden wedge boots, f21 gold elephant necklace

i got these boots almost a year ago at akira in chicago and they were so uncomfortable at first, but after breaking them in, i can't take them off. i'm not a huge fan of old navy, but i seem to always be buying jeans there. the reason i'm less than pleased with them is because every time i buy a pair of jeans that fit just right, they end up falling apart within months. such a bummer. i personally love this faith21 dress, but i've had many people say i look like i'm heading to my own wedding. i've also had tons of compliments on it, so i guess you win some and lose some.

and yes, i seriously need to work on accessorizing.
